Jimbobart

Keeping animals in pants since 2010

Inspired by his love of drawing animals and birds, maker/illustrator James Ward founded the Jimbobart design studio to create products that would make people smile as they recognize themselves (or others) in his daring doodles of critters from badgers to bears, all wearing pants. Each ceramic piece– from a pancake plate to a cheese platter to a mug–is lovingly hand-drawn and cleverly written by James from the world headquarters and home base shop of Jimbobart studio and in Brighton, England.

UK commissions have included: a Lacosté limited edition T-shirt, a UNIQLO T-shirt range, White Stuff collection artwork, Hyundai department stores South Korea artwork, Harper Collins cover illustration, Folded Wing animation and wall art, Channel4 artwork, Amnesty International plate designs, and most recently an animated television commercial for department store John Lewis.
Moxie is chuffed to have the opportunity to export Jimbobart’s magnificent menagerie to North America beginning 2021to extend this laugh-out-loud funny brand into home, gift, publishing, apparel, stationery, entertainment, and more.

Following an Illustration degree at Westminster University and a visit to Sweden, which introduced him to a huge range of natural history surface design on furnishings and homewares, James began creating and selling, first at markets and then opening his first shop on Columbia Road in London. The Jimbobart shop later moved to a larger space in Shoreditch before James made a move to the English seaside.
